Using a VPS

One thing a new trader should be aware of in trading Forex is the use of a VPS or Virtual Private Server. I currently use IamFX with MetaTrader 4 which allows me to run my trading software on a remote secure server at that brokerages for Free, which is nice and saves me $70.00 a month. This is absolutely critical to trade successfully as I found out in my first tests.  After I did my initial test I found that the bot wasn’t initiating trades during the evening run and that there two things happening even though I’m on a cable connection.

1. My internet provider was experiencing intermittent drops in service and these little glitches where enough to hang up the bot , had I been trading real money , I would have lost big time….

2. I have family members who love to play online games and thier activities where also effecting connectivity.

So do yourself a favor and get set up on a VPS  so there is no way a glitch on your end or your service providers will effect your trading.

All the Best,

Michael
